Avon Hockey Coaches

The Avon Hockey Coaching Group is committed to providing a positive, structured, and development-focused environment for all players within the program. Our coaches play a critical role in shaping the on-ice and off-ice experience, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a passion for the game. Avon Hockey takes pride in maintaining a knowledgeable and dedicated coaching staff that aligns with the organization’s values and long-term player development goals.

All coaches within the Avon Hockey program are required to meet the standards established by USA Hockey. These requirements ensure that every coach is properly trained, certified, and prepared to provide a safe and effective learning environment.

USA Hockey coaching requirements include:

• USA Hockey Membership Registration (annual) https://www.usahockey.com/membership
• Age-Specific Coaching Module completion for the level being coached https://www.usahockey.com/coaches
• USA Hockey Coaching Education Program (CEP) Certification at the appropriate level (Level 1–5) https://www.usahockey.com/coaches
• SafeSport Training Certification (annual) https://www.usahockey.com/safesportprogram
• Background Screening (as required by USA Hockey and local affiliates) https://www.usahockey.com/backgroundscreen

These requirements are designed to promote player safety, proper skill development, and consistent coaching standards across all levels of play.
