Enter the Avon Old Farms (AOF) campus from the "south entrance" (NOT the main entrance) on Old Farms Road by the soccer / ball fields. Use 732 Old Farms Road for more accurate GPS directions.
Drive up the hill. Go past the stop sign (health center on your left) and pass the back of the rink to get to the parking lot on the far side. Do NOT park in the first lot on your right, as this is reserved for AOF.
Directions
From East / West:
Take Interstate 84 to Exit 39, Farmington / route 4, which is a left exit.
Continue straight onto route 4 west. At the second traffic light (in the center of Farmington), turn right onto Route 10 North (Waterville Road). Continue 3.2 miles, and turn left onto Old Farms Road. Go past the soccer and sports fields, and take the first right into the southwest entrance road into AOF campus. Follow road through stop sign to the Jennings Fairchild Hockey Rink and parking on the far side of the building.
If you miss the rear entrance, you will need to turn around at your first available road. There is no general public access through campus to the Jennings Fairchild Hockey Rink. Avon Old Farms School has installed traffic gates to prevent cross campus travel.
From South:
Take I-95 North to New Haven, then I-91 North toward Hartford. From I-91 take Exit 22 to Route 9 North (in the Cromwell/Middletown area). Continue on Route 9 North until the end. Highway will fork; bear left onto 84 West (Waterbury) take Exit 39 and proceed as above. **
From North:
Take I-91 South to Exit 40 - route 20 West through East Granby to Granby. At Granby center (5-way intersection at traffic light) turn left onto Routes 10 and 202 South. Follow 10/202 through Simsbury to Avon (approximately 10 miles). At the intersection with Route 44, continue straight across onto Old Farms Road. Proceed 4.0 miles to the rear of campus and turn left into the Southwest entrance of the school (before sports fields). Follow road through stop sign to Jennings Fairchild Hockey Rink parking.
