8U Mites Travel Team
The Avon Hockey 2026–2027 8U Mite Travel Program offers a competitive and development-focused environment for young players beginning their travel hockey experience. Our 8U travel teams include 8U Mite A, 8U Mite A1, 8U Mite B, and 8U Mite C, allowing players to compete at an appropriate level while continuing to develop their skills and love for the game.
This program is available for players 8 years old or younger who have completed at least one year in a developmental hockey program. The travel program is designed to further build skating, puck control, teamwork, and game awareness in a structured team setting.
Players in the 8U Travel Program typically participate in two practices per week and two games over the weekend, providing consistent ice time and opportunities for development throughout the season.
The season runs September through March, with the primary home rink located on the campus of Avon Old Farms School. During the season, some practices may also be held at the International Skating Center of Connecticut.
Avon Hockey is committed to providing a positive, competitive, and development-focused experience that supports the growth of young athletes both on and off the ice.
